It’s a strange experience, living in a country where ostentatious arrests are regularly made before the prearranged ranks of the media. I always thought that sort of thing happened in other places at other times.

It seems to be the way more and more. Arrest first, think later.
There was a case like that in Toronto I think. Something about some guys arrested before they were able to behead the PM and blow up Parliament or something. Nobody knows what happened after that.
I would be more sympathetic to your complaint if I did not suspect that were the arrests to be made quietly and surrepticiously, you would not post something concerning ’secret police’.
