For a start you have to knwo someone's a Jew before you can exert prejudice and frankly, as Tony Blair appreciated fully, "we don't do religion" in this country. Muslims, Scientologists, Sikkhs and all the other whack jobs out there- including the fucking Jesus squad- are all held in great suspicion by myself and most of my friends. As a functionally secular state, the UK remains the only place where you can worship whatever sky pixies you want without interference as long as you do it in the privacy of your own Mosque / Church / coven / etc. We know its crap and we won't put up with letting you bang on about it without sneering at you and calling you names behind your back. After all, both of them spend their time whining about immigrants, calling for stiff measures against terrorists (up to and including torture) and pissing all over Lefties. DecentVision, they can call this phenomenon, although I long for the day when they all just confess to being the flat-out fucking wingnuts they so obviously are. Seriously, I can't wait for the day when I visit Harry's Place to discover they're bashing FDR for the New Deal, finding tributes to Bush's militarism in Harry Potter movies and blubbing about how a left-winger said something mean to them at a dinner party, and everyone agreed. Actually, scratch that last one - Nick's been at that tired bit of wingnut schtick for years. I thought he was about to begin fucking his arse with the boom-mike and start furiously wanking himself while horrified mothers and children looked on.
